Access Point

Typically a wireless device that gives access to a particular network.  These devices are typically hardwired to other devices such a a switch or router.  An Access Point is not necessarily a router.  The difference is a router directs data between networks, where an Access Points just gives you access to one particular network.

Personal Identifiable Information

Personal Identifiable Information or PII is any information relating to an identifiable person.  Protecting this information is a responsibility and should be protected by encrypting a document and/or email.  Examples of PII are as follows:

 

Social Security Numbers, Financial Account Numbers, Insurance Policy Numbers, Verification Data, Date of Birth, Geolocation
