Why Madeira

Madeira is an island off the coast of Africa discovered in the early 15th century by Portuguese travelers.  Madeira, the Portuguese word for wood, refers to the dense forest that is covered by wild, fertile landscape.

 

The word Madeira (or wood) is also a Portuguese wine tree found in Portugal and are considered one of the most stable and robust trees in the world.
